FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

Is it really “Pediatrician Formulated”?

A:

Absolutely! Dr. Crosby made sure the drinks have the right kinds of vitamins, and the right amounts. As a highly respected pediatrician and mom, she knows how important nutrition is for growing bodies and minds.

Q:

Why are there only about 50% of the Vitamin RDI’s in each bottle?

A:

A well-rounded healthy diet is very important for a child's growth and development. We created Green Light Vitamin Drinks to help kids get more of the vitamins they may lack on a daily basis, not to replace the fruits, vegetables and other foods they should also be consuming daily. This drink can be considered a way to fill nutritional gaps in a child's diet.

Q:

Could the drinks have less added sugar?

A:

We tried! After starting with zero sugar and seeing kids react unfavorably, we ultimately added just enough natural sweeteners (organic cane sugar and organic monk fruit extract) to make the drink palatable without tasting too 'vitaminy'. We chose not to use artificial sweeteners like sucralose or aspartame as they are not natural. We also chose not to use sugar alcohols like erythritol or sorbitol as they can cause gastrointestinal issues.

Q:

Why is calcium the only vitamin/mineral with less than a 50% RDI?

A:

Based on it's own chemical properties, there is a maximum amount of calcium that can be dissolved into a liquid. The amount of calcium in Green Light Vitamin Drinks is in the range of a typical serving size of calcium in higher calcium containing foods/drinks.

Q:

Why don’t you use Citric Acid?

A:

When we realized we had the opportunity to maintain freshness with organic lemon juice instead of citric acid, it was the obvious choice. Just one more way to make the drinks healthier for kids.
